Virginia Tech took home a football win, Manchester City triumphed over Manchester United, and we’ve got plenty of upcoming events to share with you. 🌐 Ace that Coding Assessment w/ Capital One

Coding assessments can feel intimidating, especially if you’re unsure what to expect. This workshop, hosted in collaboration with Capital One, is designed to help you build confidence and prepare effectively. Together with experienced Capital One engineers, you’ll break down common coding problems step by step, explore different approaches to solving them, and get hands-on practice in a supportive environment.

Whether you’re preparing for internships, technical interviews, or just looking to strengthen your problem-solving skills, this session will equip you with practical strategies and valuable insights. Plus, the event will be catered by Chipotle, so come ready to learn, practice, and enjoy good food while connecting with industry professionals and peers.

🧩 Leetcode Friday

 Leetcode Friday is a weekly event designed to help members build proficiency in solving Leetcode problems and strengthen coding skills essential for technical interviews. Participants will gain confidence working with a variety of data structures through guided practice and problem-solving sessions, preparing them for internships and technical interview success. Make sure you guys come if you want to be as prepared as possible for your technical interviews!

🐍 Slither into Tech: Python Workshop

New to Python or want a quick refresher? This VTHacks workshop will walk you through the essentials of Python programming, from variables and loops to functions and data structures, in a clear, effective way. We’ll also show how these basics connect to real hackathon projects, so you’ll leave ready to put Python to work at VTHacks.

🛠️ Internship Series: Full Stack Project

The Internship Series is a semester-long lineup of workshops and panels created to guide students through every stage of the internship search from crafting application materials to preparing for interviews and thriving on the job. Each session builds practical skills and provides insider tips to help you stand out to employers.

The second event is a Full Stack Project Workshop, designed primarily for computer science students interested in gaining hands-on website development experience, though all are welcome to attend. This session will walk you through creating a quick full stack project, including GitHub basics, building a website, and managing both the front-end and back-end. By the end, you’ll have practical knowledge that goes beyond the classroom and a stronger foundation in web development to highlight in future internship applications.
